The Opportunity
This is an opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Advisor to support the Assistant Director HR to deliver strategic people services, including developing and maintaining a range of workplace initiatives to maximise the effectiveness of people management.
The Role
The role's responsibilities will include:
• Management of sensitive and complex people management matters relating to performance and
conduct and WHS, ensuring high quality advice, support and education is timely and accurate
• Overseeing workplace investigations and assist managers to resolve staffing issues
• Manage the WHS functions for the agency, including Return to Work/Rehabilitation Plans and Policy
development/advice
• Advising on change processes, the Fair Work Act and other relevant workplace legislation
• Ensuring relevant policies and procedures are current, accurate and understood by managers and employees
• Developing and implementing new policies and procedures as required
• Proactively engaging with departmental staff to promote and support a fair, safe and inclusive workplace
Your Background and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
• Excellent knowledge to lead and oversee HR services relating to WHS, Rehabilitation and Conduct. This includes educating and supporting managers and employees, supervising/conducting investigations and
resolving sensitive and complex people management matters
• The ability to assist with the implementation of relevant recommendations from various internal and external reviews
in relation to HR services
• Providing expert advice, including the interpretation of legislation, instruments, policies and procedures
• Drafting reports, briefs, submissions, papers as required
• Developing business partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
• Upskilling and training staff in all aspects of HR including but not limited to Recruitment, WHS,
Performance, Learning & Development
Salary / Rate
