Procurement Support Officer

Level 2 & Level 3

12 month contract

LBMO requires a full time Procurement Support Officer to assist with supporting and accurately administering LCD’s procurement activities. This includes drafting and preparing procurement document packs and assisting to obtain the necessary approvals in accordance with procurement policy and legislation; liaising with relevant LCD staff and internal Defence procurement partners to efficiently and cooperatively progress procurement activities; maintaining an overview of concurrent procurement activities and appropriately forecasting and prioritising work effort.

The Role

The role’s responsibilities will include:

  • Support LCD staff to draft a position(s) Statement of Work and Statement of Requirements;

  • Prepare and draft relevant procurement documentation (for example: use the Statement of Work to help populate subsequent documents used to seek formal approval and approach the market).

  • Collate, organise and present current and predicted procurement activity data from across the LCD Program to identify where procurement processes are up to and thus inform effort to priority tasking. This may include procurement activity forecast planning.

  • Liaise confidently with internal Defence stakeholders regarding procurement activities and work collaboratively to support efficient work processes.

Your Background & Experience

The assessment criteria is as follows:

  • Relevant tertiary business and/or risk management qualifications and a sound working knowledge of the Defence industry operating environment and relevant broader government legislation, policies or directives

  • Demonstrated experience as a Procurement Specialist, or relevant role.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent industry experience.

  • An ability to present and explain procurement management and corresponding planning information;

  • Demonstrated experience delivering procurement support to executive level staff in an organisation;

  • Sound skills in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

  • Highly effective written skills to support documentation and communication requirements;

  • Sound compliance with managing and maintaining procurement data in the ADF’s corporate record keeping software solution;

  • Ability to work effectively in an agile team environment;

  • Familiarity with finance and statistical analysis software is advantageous;

  • Previous experience with Defence’s finance software is advantageous
